What are my strengths as a teacher?

During my time at school, I have excelled in a variety of subjects winning multiple mentions for my performance, especially in Year 11 and 12. I also had the privilege of completing Health and Human Development 3/4 in 2019, where I achieved a raw score of 47. In addition to this, I have excelled in multiple scholars programs, such as the Kumon program, where I was able to win five High Achievers awards consecutively. Although I was a high achiever, I worked hard to get there. And as your tutor I will put in 100% to help you achieve your goals.

My teaching style

I would describe my teaching style as focused and engaged. For me personally, I find that often simply explaining concepts to students does not guarantee their understanding. Instead, my teaching style would involve engaging with the student to gauge the level of their understanding of the concept being taught. From here, if there is a confident response, we will be free the move on. If not, that’s perfectly fine, it just means we need to do it again, and as a tutor, it is my responsibility to find another way of conveying the set information 🙂

My mission as a tutor

Having 2 younger siblings, I have always strived to help them in their homework and preparation for assessment tasks in order to help relieve stress and enhance their ability to achieve the highest mark they can. Being part of the high achievers at my school, I always strived to help other students as a means to clarify gaps in their knowledge prior to any big SACs or exams. My experience of tutoring also comes from my time at Kumon where I often helped my friends and family consolidate their understanding of particular concepts assisting them in moving forward towards their goals.
